Third Federal Foundation sets transition in president/executive director role

The Third Federal Foundation has announced a transition in the president and executive director position.
In a news release, the foundation the grantmaking arm of Cleveland-based Third Federal Savings & Loan announced that president and executive director Kurt Karakul will retire from that role in June and will take on an advisory role with the foundation through the end of 2021, focusing on special projects.
Upon Karakul s retirement, foundation vice president Emily Thome will become president and executive director.
Thome, who joined the foundation in 2018, has 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, most recently serving in senior development roles for the Cleveland Orchestra and the Cleveland Clinic, the release stated. CLEVELAND The Morgana Bluffs Nature Preserve, in the Slavic Village neighborhood, has received a top honor for its design.
The Ohio Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects recognized the four-acre Cleveland park and the infrastructure consulting firm, AECOM, that worked on the design. The Architects gave the project the Award of Excellence.
