NORFOLK, Va. â Norfolk detectives are asking for the publicâs help in finding a missing 69-year-old.
Police have issued a Senior Alert for 69-year-old Richard Thompson. Thompson was last seen in the 400 block of Dundaff Street around 8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 23. Officials say he did not leave in a vehicle and is presumed to be walking.
Thompson is 5 5 , has gray hair and hazel eyes. Police say he was last seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers, and a thin gold chain.
Thompson has a lazy eye which he normally covers with an eye patch; however, officials say it is believed that he did not bring the eye patch with him.

NORFOLK Virginia State Police (VSP) has activated its second Senior Alert in Norfolk within a 24 hour span. This time it is for a missing at-risk man.
Norfolk City Police Department (NCPD) is looking for Richard Byron Thompson, a 69-year-old white male. He is described as being 5’5″, 150 lbs., with hazel eyes and grey/white hair. He also wears an eye patch to cover what the department describes as a “droopy left eye.”
He was last seen at 8:30 p.m. on July 23, 2021 at the 400 block of Dundaff St. in Norfolk. He was wearing a blue polo shirt with white stripes, blue jeans cuffed at the ankles, black high top sneakers, and a thin gold chain. NCPD said that Thompson has visible scratches on his arms with what the department describes as “bleed marks.”

NORFOLK, Va. â A Senior Alert has been issued for a missing 69-year-old Norfolk man with dementia who may have scratch marks on his arms with bleed marks, according to officials with Virginia State Police.
Troopers said Richard Thompson, who was last seen in the 400 block of Dundaff Street in Norfolk around 8:30 p.m. Friday, did not drive off and is believed to be walking.
Thompson is described as a white male, 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds. He has gray hair and hazel eyes.
Police said Thompson was last seen wearing a dark blue polo shirt, blue jeans, black sneakers and a thin gold chain.
