The Charleston Farmer s Market began about five years ago with the help of area volunteers.
Before COVID, and before a few of the market s steady vendors died, about eight to 10 people sold produce or handmade items at the event, said Misty Hawkins, who helped start the group.
Now the market hosts about three vendors each Saturday that it is open.
Hawkins said that the farmers market is seeking new vendors to try to get back to its pre-COVID numbers.
The farmers market takes place from 8 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturday of each month. The market usually spans the months of April to October.
