The collision occurred between Rehman Baba Express and a truck trawler at Khudabad railway crossing near Tando Adam, reported The Express Tribune. According to the local police, the truck stopped over the crossing and some moments later was hit by the train s engine.

According to a press statement from the Pakistan Railways, the accident was the result of sheer negligence on the part of truck driver, with his vehicle s colliding with the 47 Up Rehman Baba Express. The truck driver was crossing a manned level crossing while completely overlooking the necessary safety rules to be observed fully by the road users for such railways’ installations. No casualty was reported; however, several rolling stock items of the Pakistan Railways were badly damaged. “The truck has been confiscated and police are searching the driver to arrest him for his criminal negligence and disregard for observing rules and norms at level crossings,” said Divisional Superintendent Muhammad Hanif Gul.

Pakistan Railways Property and Lands Director Ameer Mohammad Daudpota and Ferozabad Assistant Commissioner were also present at the site of the operation as they personally supervised the proceedings.
