A prosecutor of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) stated this before the court while the jail officials produced Mr Asif for the hearing of the case against him. Presiding Judge Jawadul Hassan adjourned further hearing till Feb 18 and also extended the judicial remand of Mr Asif.

Shariq Jamal said that the victim Qari Asif was murdered few days back in Shalimar and Police have arrested the suspect Ashraf Usman. He had relationship with the victim’s wife. Both wanted to contract marriage. Asif’s wife had demanded divorce many a times earlier and after the failure, they hatched a plan to remove him from the scene. Jamal added that Police also arrested three other suspected murderers involved in other blind murder cases. A few days back a man Gul Ahmad was shot dead by two unidentified suspects in Green Town. Nowshera reports 32 more Covid-19 cases

Peshawar January 3, 2021 NOWSHERA: The number of confirmed Covid-19 infected patients reached 1,719 as 32 more tested positive for the viral infection in the district on Saturday, officials said. Deputy Commissioner Mir Raza Ozgan, District Health Officer Dr Gulman Shah and Dr Yaseen Khan said during a media briefing that the surge in the number of the coronavirus-infected patients continued as people were ignoring the standard operating procedures (SOPs) against the fast-spreading viral infection. They said that 32 more suspected patients tested positive for the coronavirus that took the number of patients suffering from the viral infection to 1,719. The officials added that 1,451 patients had recovered from the fatal infection in the district so far.

Top Story January 1, 2021 LAHORE: The NAB has filed a reference against former Punjab minister for mines & minerals Muhammad Sibtain Khan along with eight other accused allegedly involved in illegally granting of a multi-billion contract to M/s Earth Resource (Pvt) Ltd (ERPL) with alleged abetment and connivance of Management of Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (PUNJMIN) regarding leasing rights of iron ore deposits located at Rajoa and Chiniot areas. As per the reference details, NAB Lahore’s Combined Investigation Team (CIT) had launched a probe over an alleged lopsided agreement after being referred from the Lahore High Court that a mining agreement between M/s ERPL and PUNJMIN’s management for mining of huge iron ore deposits comprising 500 metric tons located in Rajoa and Chiniot areas of Punjab.
