Mia family donates sewing machines, cloth for face masks production: Fight against Covid-19

February 4, 2021 Nyasa Times Reporter 8 Comments Over 45 000 needy people who cannot afford to buy face masks will in the next few days receive re-usable face masks, courtesy of the Mia family. Mia family through Elias Karim MP, who is nephew to the late Muhammed Sidik Mia,  presented the donations to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leaders as well as members from other political parties. Mia family presenting the items Kumkuyu said the donations come as a response to the recent appeal made by President Lazarus Chakwera The donation includes 50 sewing machines, 100 rolls of cloth and other materials for sewing of masks. The Mia family through Elias Karim MP, who is nephew to the late Muhammed Sidik Mia,  presented the donations to Malawi Congress Party (MCP) leaders as well as members from other political parties.

DPP South Visits Ngabu, Condoles Mia Family DPP Regional Committee (South) at Mia’s house Democratic Progressive Party (DDP) regional committee for the south on Wednesday, January 27 condoled the family of late Muhammad Sidik Mia at Ngabu in Chikwawa. Sidik Mia who until his death was serving as Transport and Public Works Minister and MCP 1st vice president passed on after succumbing to Covid 19. In his eulogy DPP Governor for the South Charles Mchacha who was accompanied by Regional Secretary Hannah Chatheka, Organizing Secretary Rudo Chimbalanga and other senior officials described late Sidik Mia as a true Patriot who was putting interest of the country at first.
