AUSTIN, Texas Austin Code Enforcement took nearly 4,000 3-1-1 complaints since February’s winter storms. More than 100 of those are storm-related damages at the Mueller Flats Apartments.
In an apartment complex with hundreds of neighbors, it didn’t take much to feel alone.
“I m glad you came out because I looked for something online to see if somebody could help me. I need my story heard,” Rose Tealer, a Mueller Flats Apartments resident, told KVUE on March 10.

Residents at the Mueller Flats apartments say they are still dealing with water damage in their homes from the winter storm which has led to mold.
AUSTIN, Texas - Residents at the Mueller Flats apartments in East Austin are fed up. They said management has failed them by not helping after the winter storm.
Many still have water damage inside their homes, others said mold has taken over their apartment. Even though I double mask up and wear latex gloves, I feel like I can t even be in there because of the heavy presence of mold and mildew, said resident Ann Marie Romero.

UPDATE: 2/2/2021, 12:20 PM - A person is being held in police custody as âa person of interestâ and being questioned in connection with the fire. Police have not released the identity of the suspect since no charge has been filed in this matter.

Butte police rescued a man overcome by smoke from a possible fire in an apartment building Monday evening.
Police and firefighters responded to the Mueller Apartments on West Granite Street at about 8:45 p.m. on a report of smoke in the building. Police evacuated the building and two officers climbed to the fourth floor where the smoke was getting thicker. They found a man there who was having difficulty breathing and moving, so the officers carried him out of the building.
