Mumbai recorded a dip in fresh infections on Monday (May 24) at 1,057 cases, pushing the total tally to 6,98,867. The number of
recoveries has continued to outnumber the daily new cases at 1312, taking the total number of recoveries to 6,53,998.
A total of 21,947 tests were conducted on May 24. The city recorded 48 deaths taking the toll to 14,671.
On Sunday, the city had reported 1,431 new coronavirus cases, 49 deaths and 1,470 recoveries.
Currently, there are 28,086 active cases in the financial capital of the country.
The recovery rate of Mumbai district is 93 per cent.

Maharashtra reported 920 deaths due to COVID-19, taking the toll to 72,662, while 57,640 new cases pushed the overall infection count to 48,80,542 on Wednesday, a state health department official said.

The official said as many as 57,006 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, raising the number of recovered cases to 41,64,098.
