COVID-19 is currently the leading cause of death in the United States, according to research from the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
According to JAMA s research, daily deaths due to COVID-19 in the U.S. increased from 826 to 2,430 between Nov. 1 and Dec. 13. The 2,430 deaths linked to the virus now outpace heart disease (an average of 1,700 deaths a day) and cancer (1,600 deaths per day) â typically the two leading causes of death in the country.
