Confusion reigns over priority list for Covid 19 Vaccinations, according to Castlebar councillor Published: Monday, 25 January 2021 12:18
No one appears to be in charge of the Covid 19 Vaccination priority list compiled by the government and the HSE. That’s the view of Independent Castlebar councillor Michael Kilcoyne.
The councillor who is a member of the HSE Forum, is calling on the Taoiseach to take the matter in hand, as he says it is causing huge anxiety for frontline workers and many elderly and vulnerable people in the community.
Councillor Kilcoyne says that on Friday last staff at a GP surgery in Mayo were told to be in Boyle to secure their vaccinations, however, on arrival, the group who had all travelled in separate cars were told there was only one vaccine available, so everyone else to come back the next day, Saturday. They went back on Saturday to be told there were no vaccines available and returned yesterday Sunday, and eventually got the jabs.
