Not only is San Antonio’s Pearl Farmers Market a beneficiary of that trend, but
USA Today readers recently named it the 5th best farmers market in the country in the national newspaper s Readers Choice 2021 rankings.
The recent revival of the farm-to-table movement has led to meteoric growth in the number of U.S. farmers markets, according to
USA Today. Indeed, more than 8,600 registered in 2021. The Pearl Farmers Market attracts approximately 6,000 shoppers weekly and hosts more than 50 vendors from within a 150 mile radius of San Antonio. To celebrate 12 years in operation, the market plans to restructure its operations to better serve shoppers and vendors.
Pearl Farmers Market Introduces Makers Market

Pearl Farmers Market is celebrating its 12th year in San Antonio this weekend with the introduction of a Makers Market.
Starting May 16, Pearl will debut a Makers Market on Sundays that focuses on goods by local artisans and culinary-inspired wares from area makers. The traditional farmers market format that includes farmers, ranchers and artisans will still take place each Saturday.
“Pearl’s weekend markets have grown tremendously over the last dozen years,” says Elizabeth Fauerso, chief marketing officer for Pearl. “As part of our market’s evolution, we are creating a new structure that features Farmers Market on Saturdays and Makers Market on Sundays.”

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio has one of the best farmers markets in the United States, according to
USA Today.
The Pearl Farmers Market came in at No. 5 in the publication’s Readers Choice 2021 rankings.
This year marks the 12th anniversary of the Pearl Farmers Market and to celebrate, starting Saturday, May 15, the Pearl is restructuring the market.
Saturdays will continue as a regular farmers market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sundays will be reserved for the Makers Market for local artisans who produce culinary-inspired wares, according to Pearl officials.
