Doctor Who spinoff  Torchwood marked an anniversary: the debut of season two opener “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” which introduced the fan-favorite time-travelling bad boy Captain John Hart, played by the incomparable James Marsters. While many will remember John Hart’s appearances on the show as fun, high-octane episodes that featured an iconic genre actor, Captain John Hart isn’t just a scene-stealing baddie he’s also the perfect narrative foil for beloved companion/ Torchwood protagonist Jack Harkness. Harkness himself just returned in  Doctor Who’s New Year’s special, along with a possible tease at the revival of the spinoff series which would be perfect timing, considering 2021 marks the 15th anniversary of the show’s debut. Could we see a full return with this perfect foil along for the ride?
