The FA’s Head of Women’s Coach Development, Audrey Cooper
The FA has announced the launch of the Coaching Excellence Initiative, an 18-month programme created to develop and connect high performance coaches working in the elite women’s game.
Fourteen coaches have been selected for the inaugural Coaching Excellence Initiative programme, providing them with a bespoke, high-quality coach development experience underpinned by regular one-to-one support from a dedicated team of mentors. The coaches will receive individual and collective learning opportunities at regular workshops and interventions to support their individual and collective needs, unique to the experiences faced in women’s football.

On the back of The FA’s announcement today about the launch of the inaugural Coaching Excellence Initiative, we had a call with The FA’s Head of Women’s Coach Development Audrey Cooper, who kindly gave some of her time to explain to the media more about the new programme.

Cooper, who has decades of experience as both an international athlete and coach, as well as in business and then in coach development, has been with The FA for four years.
Mick McCarthy appointed First Team Manager Club News

Cardiff City is pleased to confirm the appointment of Mick McCarthy as the Club s First Team Manager for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.
Mick will be joined in the Welsh capital by Assistant Manager Terry Connor, while James Rowberry and Andy Dibble will continue in their roles as First Team Coach and Goalkeeping Coach respectively.
Tan Sri Vincent Tan said of the appointment: “I’d like to personally welcome Mick and Terry to our Football Club and wish them the very best of luck.
APPOINTED: New boss picked for Barrow AFC
BARROW AFC have announced the appointment of Michael Jolley as the new First Team Manager. Jolley, 43, has been signed to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Club, which includes a summer break clause. Born in Sheffield, he was most recently in charge at Grimsby Town. A Cambridge University graduate with a degree in Economics, Jolley’s career began with the Academies at Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest before taking a coaching role at Falkirk. After a spell as Head Coach of Stirling University, he moved back in to professional football in 2011 when he was appointed First Team Coach at Lincoln City.
