Tim Scott-Wright A STOURBRIDGE hair salon owner is asking the government for a temporary reduction in VAT to try and prevent salons suffering long-term financial damage. Tim Scott-Wright, owner of The Hair Surgery in Wollaston, is backing the national SAVE OUR SALONS campaign - calling for an immediate cut in VAT from 20 per cent to five per cent. The campaign is supporting hairdressers to contact their MP and lobby for a tax cut - without which award-winning hairdresser Tim fears thousands of salons could be at risk of collapse. He said: “2020 was extremely challenging and we’re not out of the woods yet. I am backing this campaign for not only salons in my local area, but all salons up and down the country.
