The lethal coronavirus has had disastrous effects on every sector. In our country, it has claimed the lives of more than twenty thousand people. In order to deal with the situation, the government launched the vaccination drive where it has been administering the Covid-19 vaccine to everyone above 18. The vaccine is free. The vaccination campaign was going alright until people started posting unverified news on social media. A couple of weeks ago, there was a post which wrongly suggested that a vaccinated person will die within two years.
Such posts create confusion among people who are still hesitant to get vaccinated. It was good to note that media outlets clarified that such posts were fake. It is important for the government to create awareness programmes and encourage people not to fall for such misleading posts.

Chicken sellers have increased the price of chicken once again. One kilogramme of chicken is being sold at between Rs520 and Rs640 (Rs800 per kg for boneless chicken), showing a jump of Rs100-150 per kg. Retailers are also shying away from displaying the government-approved price list. The authorities concerned, however, haven’t taken any action against these shop owners.
Many people are unable to buy chicken meat. The Covid-19 pandemic has created so many financial difficulties for a majority of people. The authorities must pay attention to this issue and take action against those sellers who are not following the government-approved rates.

A National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) office in the Kech district is the only office in the district where people from adjacent areas also come to get their national identity cards made. However, these people have to face numerous issues and are forced to stand in long queues. Also, the Nadra office is not spacious and is understaffed.
As a result, people from other areas need to stay in Turbat for at least two to three days. The government should consider setting up more branches in other tehsils so that people can get their ID cards made in a convenient manner.
