Indian two-wheeler giant Hero MotoCorp Group is entering the EdTech industry through its startup Hero Vired.
The aim is to offer a mix of programmes for professionals and higher education aspirants.
According to the group, Hero Vired has partnered with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the University of Cambridge, and New York-based e-learning coding website Codecademy.

Bengaluru:Hero Group has launched a new edtech startup, Hero Vired, aimed at tapping students who have completed schooling.
“India faces a unique employability paradox where there s a shortage of highly skilled professionals, and yet graduates find it difficult to secure suitable jobs due to lack of skill sets that are imperative for the industry,” said Akshay Munjal, founder and chief executive officer of Hero Vired, part of the $5 billion Hero Group.

The EdTech venture is envisioned to offer an end-to-end learning ecosystem that offers learners overall professional development and makes them industry-ready for emerging jobs and professions.
In today’s dynamic competitive environment, emerging technologies and new-age skills have disrupted the nature of jobs and the competencies required to do them. With Hero Vired, the company aims to fill this gap and amplify the government’s vision of a self-reliant India by training professionals for Industry 4.1.
