ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court Islamabad on Friday ordered auction of seized properties of former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in Toshakhana reference.
The Accountability Court Judge Syed Asghar Ali heard the case and accepted the NAB application for auction of the properties of the former prime minister and ordered that wherever Nawaz Sharif’s properties are located the concerned provincial government can carry out the auction. The court directed the deputy commissioners of Lahore and Sheikhupura to submit a report regarding auction within 60 days.
The court also ordered the relevant authorities to submit the proceeds in the national exchequer after auctioning the properties of Nawaz Sharif. The court also ordered the auctioning of Nawaz Sharif’s vehicles within 30 days. The court said police’s help should be sought in getting hold of the vehicles before they are put on sale.

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday confirmed the bail of former president Asif Ali Zardari in a case pertaining to suspicious transactions from Bahria Town accounts to fake bank accounts.
A division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani granted the post-arrest bail on medical grounds after the commission, which had been constituted last month to evaluate health condition of the ex-president, filed its report.
The court had earlier granted interim bail to Mr Zardari, who had applied for bail before arrest in June 2018, but the petition was never fixed for hearing afterwards until September 2020.

ISLAMABAD: Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday got permanent bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on medical grounds in a NAB inquiry pertaining to suspicious transactions worth Rs 8 billion.
A division bench of the Islamabad High Court comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kayani heard the pre-arrest bail case of Zardari. Zardari s counsel Faruk H Naek stated that a medical board has submitted its report regarding the health of the former president.
The bail petition has been filed on medical grounds, he said, adding that his client would cooperate with the NAB. To a query by the bench, NAB Deputy Prosecutor General Muzaffar Abbasi said the case is at the stage of investigation and a reference is yet to be filed. He said four references have been filed against Zardari pertaining to fake bank accounts.

The bench, comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, heard the pre-arrest bail case of Asif Zardari.
Zardari’s counsel Farouk Naek stated that the medical board had submitted its report regarding the health of former president in detail. The bail petition had been filed on medical grounds, he said, adding that his client would cooperate with the NAB investigation.
