“Speed humps” are now on Providence’s East Side.
Two weeks after GoLocal reported that Providence is “turning into speed hump city,” the traffic-calming measures have cropped up on Rochambeau Avenue.
The city had already previously deployed “traffic calming” measures on Rochambeau which included extended sidewalks at intersections to narrow the road.
Latest in the City
As GoLocal wrote in April:
A number of streets in Providence now have new “speed humps” as the city continues to utilize the tool to address speeding and safety.
While speed bumps have been utilized in neighborhoods such as South Providence for years, they are now cropping up in other sections of the city.
