Man grabs house of 2 siblings Staff Correspondent 25th February, 2021 10:37:07 A man allegedly grabbed the house of two sisters, one of whom is differently abled, at Jinjira in Keraniganj on the outskirts of the capital. Mohammad Rubel, who is one of their relatives, illegally took control of the house on two decimals of land owned by the siblings Samira Sadek and Sarwar Hossain Bushra about four months ago. Sabina Yasmeen, mother of the girls, briefed this to journalists at Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) office at Segunbagicha in the capital on Thursday. She said that her husband Sadek Hossain is an expatriate living in Kuwait. The mother along with their two daughters live in a rented house in the capital’s Purana Paltan as their differently abled daughter Bushra attends a school there.

The victim Sumon Miah, 26, of Kishoreganj, used to live with his sister and her husband at a rented house in Nayabazar, said police. Sumon s sister Hosne Ara, also a witness of the incident, said Sumon criticised her husband Habibullah, 32, for taking drugs and not providing any money for family expenditures. At one point, the conversation turned into a feud and became violent as Sumon told Habibullah that he could not even provide milk to his infant child, she said.

Lawyers holding demo at CMM court for keeping their fellow on dock for 2 hours Photo: Chaitanya Chandra Halder Star Online Report Star Online Report A section of lawyers of Dhaka Bar Association is holding a demonstration in front of Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate s Court demanding immediate withdrawal of the additional chief metropolitan magistrate for keeping a lawyer on the dock for two hours yesterday. Around 500 lawyers started the protest rally at the main gate of the court around 9:30am. All the judicial activities at the CMM court and Chief Judicial Magistrate Court came to a halt following the protest. The gate of the court was shut and no one is allowed to enter the court building.
