The High Follow-Up Committee for Arab Citizens of Israel has called for protests in Arab towns and cities across Israel to show support for Palestinians in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement, the committee called for: Support of Jerusalem and its people in the face of the bloody terrorist aggression against our people in Jerusalem s neighbourhoods and Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Arab residents of Israel yesterday blocked a major highway near Jerusalem in protest against Israeli police s inaction in the fight against violence in Arab communities, media reports said.
A convoy of cars started from the village of Ara in the northern city of Haifa and moved towards the Israeli Knesset in Jerusalem. Arabs from other towns and villages took part in the protest.

RAMALLAH, Monday, December 21, 2020 (WAFA) – Palestinians in Israel today launched a convoy of vehicles protesting against violence and crime in their towns and Israeli police inaction toward this matter.
The vehicles gathered at the entrance to Kafr Qara town in the north of Israel, and then headed from there at slow speed towards the city of Jerusalem, raising black flags and banners denouncing the policies of the Israeli government and police and their collusion with violence and crime in the Arab communities in Israel.

The protesters, seeking to send the government and Knesset a message, waved black flags and disrupted the traffic as they left from Kafr Qara.
The chairman of the Higher Arab Monitoring Committee, former member of parliament Mohammed Baraka, said the convoy is a first step in a protest that will continue “until the government responds to the most legitimate and humane issue in Arab society – personal safety.”

Baraka said that the protesters are demanding law enforcement authorities to seize illegal weapons and fight criminals with harsh punishments.
