CRESTVIEW The COVID-19 crisis didn t hold up the city s annual Christmas Parade, which marched and rolled down Main Street on Dec. 5 between throngs of bundled-up revelers.
Parade participants, who because of the pandemic kept more distance between them than in past parades, included the Crestview High School Band, known as The Big Red Machine, as well as other bands, members of the city police and fire departments, many area businesses and organizations, and Santa Claus.
Before the parade began, Crestview Mayor JB Whitten and other dignitaries flipped a switch to light up the city s Christmas tree next to the Okaloosa County Veterans Memorial Park at the corner of Main Street and Courthouse Terrace.
