Equanimity. It’s a strange word to think of, especially in the midst of an exotic chicken dinner. But there it is. On the tip of my tongue, on the verge of being blurted out in the middle of a dinner at producer Abdullah Kadwani’s place.
The word meaning composure or one’s level of self-control in a way fits Kadwani and his company 7th Sky Entertainment’s persona. Also, the dinner is somewhat of a privilege, I think, because Kadwani and Asad Qureshi, producers of long-running, ratings-smashing productions, are somewhat elusive.
“The mystery [of their privacy] is sexy,” someone close to them had once said to me.

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Thursday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government fully believed in the basic, constitutional and democratic right of freedom of expression.
Presiding over a meeting of the office bearers of Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) via video link, he said all possible steps would be taken for the development of media industry and promotion of freedom of press.
Electronic media played a vital role in raising awareness among the people, he added. “We have to ensure across the board transparency as resolving problems was our topmost priority,” he said.
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz Thursday discussed with the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) through a video conference FM radio licences and the National Digital Cable Policy-2021.
The meeting was attended by Information Secretary Shahira Shahid, Pemra Chairman Muhammad Saleem Baig, PID PIO Sohail Ali Khan, DG IP Manzoor Ali Memon and other officials. The PBA was represented by Chairman Mian Amir Mahmood, Secretary General Shakeel Masood, Senior Vice Chairman Salman Iqbal, Vice Chairman Mir Ibrahim, ‘substitute’ convener Tahir A Khan and others.
The meeting discussed FM radio licences and the National Digital Cable Policy 2021 in the light of the Supreme Court decision. “The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government firmly believes in the constitutional, fundamental and democratic right to freedom of expression.
