MUMBAI: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) S-ward recently wrote a letter to the Powai police asking to quash the first information report (FIR) that they have registered against a 30-year-old homemaker and her two children a 13-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter for allegedly fleeing from the institutional quarantine that they were placed at Hill Grange building in Hiranandani Gardens on March 10. The case was registered the next day when the officials found out that the three Meena Gupta, her son Sumit and daughter Arpita has been missing from the list of 60 people who were placed under quarantine in the building. The officials also got the homemaker treated for the ankle twist she suffered after she jumped a six-foot wall at the quarantine centre while fleeing with her kids.

New Delhi:Â A group of 100 former civil servants have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, criticising the lack of transparency associated with the PM-CARES Fund. The Central government refusing to divulge information about the Fund under the Right to Information Act, by claiming it is not a public authority, was the immediate trigger for the letter.

Lucknow, Jan 18: UP Minister Anand Swaroop Shukla has called Mamata Banerjee an Islamic terrorist and claimed the West Bengal Chief Minister will have to take refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh when the assembly elections in her state gets over.
Shukla, who is Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, has also alleged that Banerjee does not believe in Bharatiyata (Indianness) and has insulted Hindu gods and goddesses. She is an Islamic terrorist. She has worked to break the temples and insult gods and goddesses in West Bengal. She is acting at the behest of Bangladesh, the minister told a select group of journalists on Sunday.
29 elderly people die soon after receiving first dose of covid-19 vaccine in Norway

Oslo, Jan 17: Norwegian officials said 29 people had died in the country a short time after receiving their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. Of those deaths, at least 13 have been autopsied, with the results suggesting that common side effects may have contributed to severe reactions in frail, elderly people, according to the Norwegian Medicines Agency.
Norway said Covid-19 vaccines may be too risky for the very old and terminally ill, the most cautious statement yet from a European health authority as countries assess the real-world side effects of the first shots to gain approval.

The Supreme Court, in a 2:1 verdict on January 5, has held that there is no infirmity in the grant of âno objectionâ by the Central Vista Committee (CVC) and âapprovalâ by the Delhi Urban Art Commission (DUAC) and âprior approvalâ by the Heritage Conservation Committee (HCC) to the Central Vista Project, for which Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone on December 10 last year.
