LMFM By Simon Doyle The project failed in its application for the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund earlier this year.
A local TD says the Government must provide clarity on whether there is an appeals process for unsuccessful applicants under the
Urban Regeneration and Development Fund.
It comes as the
Port Access Northern Cross Route in Drogheda failed to receive funding under the scheme in March after being ranked as one of the worst applications nationwide.
Louth County Council defended their submission, saying it was an excellent standard - despite failing in eight of the ten assessment criteria.
Speaking in the Dáil yesterday,
The latest round of funding under the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF) has again sidestepped the Northern Cross Route, a much awaited road development on Drogheda s northside.
The Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O Brien, announced €35.1 million in funding for three regeneration projects in the North-East region on Monday. The Louth one was the St. Nicholas Quarter and Backlands Regeneration in Dundalk which received €7.49 million. I understand there will be some disappointment in terms of projects which were unsuccessful and my Department will engage with Local Authorities and provide feedback in respect of unsuccessful proposals, he said.

LMFM By Simon Doyle The HSE has not provided a re-arranged timeframe for the jabs to take place.
A local TD says a decision to postpone COVID-19 vaccinations for maternity staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda needs to be reversed.
Staff on the maternity ward of the hospital were told this morning that their first jabs, which were due to be administered this week, will not go ahead as planned.
No revised date for the planned vaccinations has been provided to the staff by the HSE.
It comes as last week the hospital said it needed people in the region to adhere to public health efforts as the facility comes under severe pressure from admissions of Covid patients.
