Williamsville Central School District announces plan for return to in-person learning

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) â Friday, New York State released updated guidance regarding in-person learning. The state s updated guidance said schools can reduce the minimum physical distance between students in classrooms from six feet to three feet.
On March 19, the CDC issued a new recommendation that with face coverings students at K-12 schools should maintain a distance of at least three feet in classroom settings.
Monday, the Williamsville Central School District released its plan for a return to in-person learning in response to the new state guidance.

Cambridge extends restrictions on public events

The city of Cambridge announced that it will not advance to Phase IV, Step 1 of the Commonwealth’s Reopening Plan and will remain in Phase III, Step 2 until further notice.
The city will also restrict gathering limits for event venues and in public settings to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors. Cambridge s new gathering limits are more restrictive than the Commonwealth. Outdoor gatherings at private residences and in private backyards will remain at a maximum of 25 people, with indoor house gatherings remaining at 10 people.
In addition, the city announced that it is extending the current prohibition on city-sponsored community events, events permitted for the use of city parks, or other city-sponsored public gatherings through May 31. The city has not permitted events or gatherings through its special events process since March 16, 2020, and is continuing this prohibition as part of its overall COVID
Buffalo Public Schools provide update on Phase III and Phase IV of reopening

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash provided an update on Phase III and Phase IV of reopening Thursday.
In a letter to board members and the BPS community, Cash said:
Covid-19 infections are rising again across the region, a more contagious variant is spreading, and we are working to recover from a malicious cyberattack. Those significant challenges notwithstanding, I have directed staff to bring back all remaining high school opt-in students on April 26th. Remaining elementary opt-in students will come back on May 10th. We will discuss further details at our April 14th Board Work Session and defer to updated recommendations from our Medical Director and local health experts.
