Frank Turner has released a new single, The Gathering.
Produced by Rich Costey, the rowdy offering celebrates the return of live music over glam-rock guitar licks and thundering drums from Muse s Dom Howard. Jason Isbell also contributes a solo to the track. The singer-songwriter said: It s about that moment when you come together in a room full of people, and you lean on a stranger and sing along with the chorus and get the words wrong.
It marks Turner s first new material under his own steam in almost two years, and comes with news of nine summer shows headlined by Turner with Xtra Mile Recordings artists such as Skinny Lister, Johnny Lloyd, Pet Needs, Ducking Punches, Non Canon, Deux Furieuses, Berries, Guise, and Semantics. Tickets for the Gatherings are on sale now.

Frank Turner hasn’t put out music in almost two years, but now he’s breaking that silence with a vengeance. Not only did he just release a brand new track, “The Gathering,” which features both Grammy-winning alt-country star Jason Isbell and Dominic Howard (the drummer of a little band called Muse), but the English folk-punk standout also launched both a limited edition beer and UK tour to go with it.
Of course, after spending most of the last year streaming live shows from his living room, the singer-songwriter wasn’t looking to be like everyone else and write a song about life in quarantine.

As we reported last month, Sean, determined to start 2021 positively, support his exhausted LAS colleagues and inspired by Sir Captain Tom Moore, set himself the challenge of walking a mile around his local area. And the inspirational 39-year-old completed it whilst wearing his London Ambulance Service uniform, dawing local and national acclaim.
