Details of new Foxconn, Wisconsin tax credit and jobs deal
MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. - A new deal is now in place for one of the world s largest technology companies. Wisconsin s economic development leader detailed the new Foxconn contract Wednesday, April 21.
Foxconn s original plans for thousands of jobs in Mount Pleasant and, in turn, billions of dollars is tax breaks never materialized.
Work continues at the Mount Pleasant campus but moving forward, the contract for state subsidies is drastically different. We are endeavoring to treat Foxconn the same way we treat our other companies that we have partnered with on incentive agreements, said Missy Hughes, secretary and CEO of Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).
US warns against travel to 80% of world due to COVID-19 pandemic

WASHINGTON - The State Department on Monday urged Americans reconsider any international travel they may have planned and said it would issue specific warnings not to visit roughly 80% of the world s countries due to risks from the coronavirus pandemic.
The United States hasn t had a global advisory warning against international travel since August, when guidance was revoked by the Trump administration.
The advice issued by the department isn t a formal global advisory. Instead, it says the State Department will start using Centers for Disease Control and Prevention standards as it prepares health and safety guidelines for individual countries. Because of those standards, about 80% of countries will be classified as Level 4 or do not travel.

MILWAUKEE - The 2021 Milwaukee Air & Water Show, scheduled for July 24-25, has been put on hold, the organization announced Tuesday, April 20.
In its Facebook post, the organization did not state a specific reason for the hold, however, the 2020 event was canceled as a COVID-19 precaution.
