STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A nor’easter slammed Staten Island late Sunday and intensified as Monday progressed, before switching over to freezing rain Monday evening.
The storm dumped a foot of snow on the borough, and forecasters say it’s possible we may get a little more overnight.
Here are the most important things you should know moving forward:
Public school buildings will be closed again on Tuesday. Catholic elementary schools will be having another snow day.

Robert A. DeLeo of Winthrop, who was elected to the House of Representatives in 1990 and went on to serve as Speaker of the House for 12 years, delivered his farewell address in the House Chambers at the Statehouse in Boston Tuesday afternoon.
The speech marked the end of a legendary political career for Winthrop’s favorite son who served as a Winthrop Town Meeting member and a member of the Board of Selectmen before running successfully for a Winthrop-Revere seat in the House. Seventy-year-old Massachusetts House Speaker Robert DeLeo, who served for nearly 30 years in the House, and a dozen as Speaker, delivered his farewell remarks on December 29, at the House of Representatives Chamber at the State House .

Here s where to recycle your Christmas tree across the Denver metro area.

Denver residents can recycle their old Christmas trees beginning Jan. 4 through the Treecycle Program. For two weeks, Denver Solid Waste Management customers can put their Christmas trees â with all decorations removed â out at the curb on their scheduled trash collection day no later than 7 a.m. This ends on Jan. 15 and is only applicable for live trees.
