On Monday, doctors and patients at The Heights Hospital arrived to find a baffling scene. They were locked out and a note on the door said the locks were changed because the tenant owed about $1 million in rent. Please be advised that the door locks to the leased premises have been changed and tenant shall be excluded therefrom due to non-payment of rent, the note read.
“We showed up around 8 this morning, myself and my staff, to get ready . we were told we were not allowed in the building anymore,” family physician Dr. Felicity Mack said. “We weren’t given notice to take care of our patients and let them know so I’ve got patients that continue to show up today that I was supposed to see.”

Doctors at a Houston hospital have resorted to treating patients in a parking lot after being locked out of the building due to rent and fees allegedly unpaid by the hospital.
On Monday, staff at The Heights Hospital were unable to enter the building, where a note posted on the door advised the locks had been changed and the keys would only be given when $461,302.24 in rent and fees are paid, according to Houston s ABC13. Doctors at a Houston hospital on Monday morning found themselves locked out with no way of treating their patients.
At the Heights Hospital, medical workers ready to open the on-site clinic discovered a notice on the door saying the hospital owed more than $1 million in back rent and fees. Please be advised that the door locks to the leased premises have been changed and tenant shall be excluded therefrom due to non-payment of rent, the note read, adding that keys would be provided upon payment of delinquent rent and other sums due under the lease.
