New Hampshire man accused of robbing Shrewsbury bank Updated 12:04 PM; A New Hampshire man is facing charges after police said he robbed a bank in Shrewsbury. The robbery happened at the TD Bank at 200 Boston Turnpike just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, Shrewsbury police said in a statement released Wednesday. The suspect, later identified as Stephen Waterman, 53 of Troy, New Hampshire, allegedly passed a note demanding money and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. It does not appear that any weapons were displayed and no one was injured. About 17 minutes after the robbery was reported, Worcester police detained Waterman on Myrtle Street in Worcester, the statement said. Shrewsbury officers got to Myrtle Street and identified Waterman as the suspect.

Construction Starts for New Vestal Emergency Squad Headquarters Work has begun to build a new facility for the Vestal Volunteer Emergency Squad. The headquarters building will be located on the Vestal Parkway East. The is on state-owned land between the Vestal Public Library and the Route 26 interchange. Emergency squad chief Jerry Schultz said the project will be completed around November or December. The project s timeline has been adjusted due to some delays but Schultz said it s back on track. The Vestal ambulance service has been based at a former community center property on Myrtle Street in Twin Orchards since 1976. Major flooding incidents in 2006 and 2011 posed operational challenges for the squad and prompted the decision to relocate.
