A man wanted for a kidnapping in Brookings County has been arrested, according to the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office.
Alexander Felipe Andrade, 23, was arrested Friday near the 1500 block of West Russell Street in a coordinated operation between the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Task Force, along with the Sioux Falls Police Department, according the sheriff s statement.
Andrade is accused of trying to kidnap a 22-year-old Sioux Falls woman on July 18 at about 4:20 a.m. near Oakwood State Park, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim was sitting in a car with two friends, when Andrade allegedly drove up in a blue Jeep, according to the Brookings County Sheriff’s Department. He allegedly got out of the Jeep with a machete and then began to swing it around, striking the car.

Residents in Dell Rapids are returning to their homes have a gas leak this Wednesday evening.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office says crews will be working to finish the repairs.
The lead occurred this Wednesday afternoon in the 4th and Ladelle area.

The gas leak in Dell Rapids has been contained. Please avoid Ladelle between 3rd and 4th as crews will be working to finish repairs. Evacuations were conducted during this incident. People can now safely enter the area.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) Yesterday (Thursday), the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office conducted liquor compliance checks of area businesses that have alcohol sales licenses.
These checks included businesses with either liquor or malt beverage licenses.
These checks are done periodically throughout the county in an effort to reduce the incidents of underage purchase of alcoholic beverages.
56 of the 61 businesses checked passed the compliance check.
The following 5 businesses FAILED the compliance check: Garretson Food Center, Palisades Oil Garretson, TJZ Bar Colton, Coffee Cup Hartford and Pump N Pak, Sioux Falls.
