In a statement issued on Monday titled ‘The new world of work: A case for electronic document management system’, the company noted that more people have had to work from remote locations and offered EDMS as a solution to working from home. According to the firm, EDMS is a collection of digital tools for managing the creation, use, and storage of documents (digital files and scanned images of paper documents) in multiple formats.

The announcement of the winning innovators in the third phase of NIISP, was made at the Ministry’s head office in Kampala by the ICT Minister, Hon. Judith Nabakooba. The event was attended by the Executive Director at NITA-U, Dr Hatwib Mugasa, and the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, Hon. Vincent Waiswa Bagiire to mention some honorable names.

Ogun to digitalise civil service

Punch Newspapers Sections Temiloluwa O’Peters To ensure smooth integration of Information Communication Technology in the process of governance, the Ogun State Government through the Bureau of Information Technology has trained some of its civil servants in digital documentation process. The Special Assistant to the Governor on Information Communication Technology, Olakunke Akinbola, said this during the training organised by the Bureau of Information Technology in partnership with Apex Applications Limited, according to a statement by the state government. Akinbola noted that the state was following the ‘ISEYA’ Agenda to improve on digitalisation. He said that part of the process was to deploy an Electronic Document Management System into the management of government activities in order to do away with physical paper work, adding that files would be scanned and archived into the system for proper storage.
