Five Oregon Counties Move Down In Risk Levels | JAM N 107 5

Jun 8, 2021 Governor Kate Brown today announced updates to county risk levels under the state s public health framework to reduce transmission and protect Oregonians from COVID-19. A complete list of counties and their associated risk levels is available Lane, Coos, and Wasco counties will move down to Lower Risk, and Josephine and Yamhill counties will move down to Moderate Risk, effective Wednesday, June 9. Harney County will move up from Lower Risk to Moderate Risk due to rising case counts, effective Friday, June 11. Harney County had been granted a caution period from June 4 through June 10. Effective through Thursday, June 17, there will be 21 counties at the Lower Risk level, 4 at Moderate Risk, and 11 at the High Risk level.

Some Southern Oregon Counties Still At High Risk For COVID

/ Some Southern Oregon counties continue to lag behind the rest of the state in terms of their risk levels for COVID-19. Tuesday, Gov. Kate Brown announced the latest updates to the risk levels. Jackson, Douglas and Klamath are among the 11 counties in the state that remain in the High Risk category. That means limited capacities remain in place for several types of businesses, including 50 people max at gyms, restaurants and theaters. To move into the lower risk category, they would need to have given at least one vaccine dose for 65% of residents 16 and older. Josephine County moved to Moderate Risk, so some restrictions there will be lifted starting Friday. Coos County joined Curry and 19 other counties in the Lower Risk category.

Harney and Coos counties have been warned they will move backwards if their numbers don t improve. In the Portland area, Clackamas County remains at High Risk, because its vaccination rate is 62%.
