NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI – Thomas M. Knapp, age 83, of Negaunee Township, entered eternal life Monday morning, February 1, 2021, at UP Health System-Marquette.
Born January 4, 1938, in Detroit, a son of Walter M. and Florence (Furnier) Knapp, Tom was raised in the St. Clair Shores and Harson’s Island areas of Detroit. Following high school, Tom entered the US Air Force in 1958, serving for four years. His basic training took place in Texas before he was assigned to K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base for the balance of his military service, receiving his honorable discharge in 1962, during the Vietnam Era. It was while serving at Sawyer that Tom met Judith Noel of Sands and on September 8, 1962, the couple was united in marriage. Together, the couple made their first home in Little Lake with subsequent relocations to Marquette and finally Midway Drive in Negaunee Township. For a time, Tom did odd jobs in the area and, while working at a local gas station, met the Marquette City

A San Diego police dog named Titan is recovering after undergoing surgery and receiving more than 100 stitches to repair wounds caused when he was stabbed in the side by a man accused of trespassing at a business Monday.
Officers called to the business on Barnett Avenue near Midway Drive around 11:30 a.m. found a 35-year-old man. Police said they tried talking to the man but he refused to give them any information and kept reaching for a bag.
The officers tried to put him in handcuffs, but instead of complying, the man punched the officers and ran. He then entered “military property” and climbed onto the top of a shipping container and refused to come down, according to police.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of the vehicle pictured. Sometime before Tuesday, January 19, 2021, a red 1991 Honda Civic was stolen from a yard at the 46400 block of Midway Drive in Lexington Park.
The VIN is 2HGED645MH558182 and there were Hello Kitty stickers on the rear windows.

Suspect Isaiah Youngblood was apprehended on Midway Drive in Wilmington after allegedly fleeing the stolen car from where it stopped on South South Street.
A Dayton man is facing multiple charges after allegedly leading law enforcement officers on a vehicle chase that reached speeds over 120 mph while he had four juveniles riding with him.
At just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Wilmington police received a report that the Ohio State Highway Patrol and Sabina police were in pursuit of a vehicle driving toward the city from Sabina at speeds over 120 mph.
