Lubbock Becomes ‘Sanctuary City For the Unborn’
Lubbock voters went to the polls last Saturday to vote on several issues, but the one main issue was to approve or turn down a measure to outlaw abortion in the city.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, it was put to the citizens of Lubbock to vote to make Lubbock a sanctuary city for the unborn after city council rejected the proposal last year knowing that it would be unenforceable and would open up the city for legal battles that they did not want to deal with.
The proposition was approved by voters by a 62% margin but it is unknown when the proposition would go into effect.
