Tornadoes, destructive severe storms possible for Michiganders on Spring Break in the South

It’s that time of year. As warmth moves northward, along comes thunderstorms and severe weather associated with the thunderstorms. Wednesday, March 17 into Thursday, March 18 looks like it could have the first widespread tornado outbreak over a large part of the southeastern U.S. Here’s an alert for those of you vacationing in the Southeast currently, or heading there Thursday.

From Bill Steffen’s blog: “Southern Lower Michigan will be on the north side of a band of snow this weekend. Right now it looks like the heaviest snow will be across N. Illinois and Indiana, but several inches of snow could fall from Grand Rapids to the south. The farther south you are, the better the chance for some significant snow from Saturday PM into Sunday.”
