The Michigan State Police Lansing Post is gathering gently used or new purses/bags/totes purses to be filled with comfort items to benefit survivors of sexual assault.
Donations are being accepted through April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, at the Lansing Post located at MSP Lansing Post
7119 N. Canal Road Lansing, MI 48913. The post hours are M-F from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

EMMET COUNTY A Sault man was arrested and faces charges for motor vehicle theft and illegal use of financial transaction device.
On the morning of Oct. 5, 2020, a trooper from the Michigan State Police Gaylord Post was dispatched to a residence on East Levering Road in Bliss Township for a stolen vehicle complaint. The victim said he woke up in the morning and noticed his vehicle missing from the driveway. He had left his keys and debit card inside the vehicle.
The victim learned through his bank that someone attempted to use his debit card in Houghton Lake and Lansing, but the person entered the wrong PIN, and the transaction was declined. The vehicle, a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, was entered in the Law Enforcement Information Network as stolen. The following day it was recovered in Clinton County.
