HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Multiple organizations are collaborating to donate clothes and other necessities to charitable causes.
Organizations participating include sororities from the University of Southern Mississippi and the Mississippi Association of Educational Office Professionals.
Items and money donated are being split between The Fieldhouse for the Homeless in Hattiesburg and the Domestic Abuse Family Shelter in Laurel.
“We serve men, women, children and pets, so there is a constant need for supplies,” said Jason Niblett, a DAFS victim advocate and community outreach member.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) â Jones College first baseman Lauren Lindsey was selected as Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference âPlayer of the Weekâ for the week ending April 10.
Lindsey, a true freshman from Baker High School in Mobile, Ala., batted .500 on the week with a double, home run and 10 RBIs.
She went 4-for-5 with nine RBIs in Jonesâ doubleheader sweep of Coahoma Community College.

JACKSON, Miss. (WDAM) â Jones College freshman Sterling James was selected as Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference âPitcher of the Weekâ for the week ending April 10.
James, a redshirt freshman from Southaven, went 2-0 on the week for No. 8 Jones.
She pitched 4 2/3 shutout innings and got the win in a 3-2 victory over No. 5 Copiah-Lincoln Community College. James walked none and struck out two.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Media Professionals from across the state attended the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters Day at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg on Thursday to help mentor students enrolled in the School of Mass Communication.
The event provided the students with an opportunity to engage in one-on-one sessions with the broadcast leaders and have their portfolios and demo reels critiqued. This in turn helps to prepare them as they find their way into their respective journalism careers.
