Local Jack in the Box Owners File Bankruptcy

WBGZ Radio 2/19/2021 | By Mark Ellebracht - WBGZ Radio The owners of dozens of Jack in the Box restaurants in the Riverbend, Metro East and in the St. Louis area have filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection.  While some of those locations remain open, the future of others is in question as there was a plan in the works with creditors to close unprofitable stores. An agreement between Illinois Jack LLC, Missouri Jack LLC and City National Bank could not be reached during recent negotiations prompting the bankruptcy filing on Tuesday.  According to a report in the St. Louis Post Dispatch, the companies have agreed to mediation and motions have been submitted so employees will still be paid.  The report says the company was struggling before COVID-19 hit and has found it difficult to compete with other chains and find enough employees.
