Charles B. “Wally” McAuley, 71, of Caldwell, Ohio, died Friday, May 7, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Friends may call today from 11 am-2 pm at McVay-Perkins Funeral Home in Caldwell, where the funeral service will follow visitation at 2 pm. The service will also be livestreamed on the McVay-Perkins Funeral Home Facebook page. A veteran’s service will follow at Olive Cemetery. Charles Byron “Wally” McAuley, 71 of Caldwell, Ohio Charles Bryon “Wally” McAuley, age 71,of Caldwell, Ohio, died on Friday, May 7, 2021, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Wally is survived his sister, Susan Hall of Brawley California, nieces Linda McAuley (Jenny) of Columbus, Melissa Deegan (Jeff) of Atlanta, Georgia, Georgina McAuley (Fernando) of Brawley, California, nephew, Tim McAuley (Annette) of Lakewood Village, Texas, special cousin, Sharon Robinson (Rodney) of Caldwell, and many lifelong friends. Wally is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Mike McAuley, and his great nephew, Adam Deegan. Wally was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on August 23, 1949, the middle child of Dayle and Carol (Archibald) McAuley. He graduated from Caldwell High School in 1967 and then was drafted into the US Army. Shirley A. King, 82 of Summerfield, Ohio Shirley A. King, age 82, of Summerfield, Ohio, died Saturday, February 27, 2021, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born October 5, 1938, in Durango, Colorado, daughter of the late Gail E. and Stella F. Brewer Thompson. She graduated from Bayfield High School in Bayfield, Colorado, and the Bible Missionary Institute in Rock Island, Illinois. Shirley was a member of the Marietta Bible Missionary Church. She loved bird watching, reading, singing, and playing the piano. She enjoyed the many duties of being a farm wife: gardening, canning, working in the hayfield, delivering calves, baking homemade bread, and churning butter from the farm’s dairy cows. She was a loving wife and mother who was always willing to make any sacrifice necessary for the good of her family.
