The MG Hector petrol CVT has been launched in India, with prices starting at Rs 16.52 lakh. It was only at the start of this year that India was introduced to the MG Hector 2021 – which received a slew of updates – and now, MG Motor India has added a CVT automatic option for those who will be spending most of their driving days inside the city, and are looking for a smoother drive experience and better fuel efficiency.
Its Indonesian cousin, the Wuling Almaz, also gets a CVT automatic option.
CVT could be sold alongside the DCT at a more affordable price.
It rivals the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Harrier, and Mahindra XUV500.
As if giving the MG Hector SUV a mid-life refresh in January wasn’t enough of an update, Morris Garages has more in store. This time, it is updating the SUV with a CVT automatic and will launch it on February 11. Interestingly enough, its Indonesian cousin, the Wuling Almaz, is already equipped with a CVT gearbox, instead of the DCT found in the India-spec Hector.
MG has increased Hector and Hector Plus SUVs price in India by up to ₹10,000. The company has made Hector s Smart and Sharp variants pricier while Hector Plus Super, Smart, and Sharp trims are now expensive.
