MG Motor has already made a financial commitment or entered into a commercial agreement with 16 startups to deliver a modern car that appeals to the Indian youth.
MG Motor India is betting on new auto-tech features and its concept of car-as-a-platform (CAAP) of possibilities and services to differentiate the Astor, which will take on the likes of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq and the VW Taigun, when launched around Diwali.
The company had sold 710 units in May last year, when sales were impacted by the nationwide lockdown. "The vehicle production during the month was impacted due to shutdown to divert oxygen for medical use. Additionally, supply chain constraints impacted production as suppliers remained closed during the lockdown in May," it added.
