Assam Govt Issues Revised Notification, Educational Institutions to Shut in District with 300 + COVID Cases Directions have been issued for closing down classes from Class VI to VIII in those districts where the number of cases has crossed the 100 mark.   |  27 April 2021 10:02 AM GMT GUWAHATI: The Assam government has authorized all the Deputy Commissioners and Chairman, DDMA to close down all educational institutions (govt & non-govt) from pre-primary to University levels along with hostels & coaching institutions for 15 days, as and when cumulative COVID-19 cases in the last 10 days exceed 300. The notification read, - In partial modification and a continuation of the earlier orders issued, the Government in Second, Education Department hereby authorizes the Deputy Commissioners of the Districts and Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority.

They will work along with bill collectors and health inspectors of Mangaluru City Corporation. Corporation Commissioner Akshy Sridhar said that Home Guards were on election duty in Kerala and hence, there was delay in deploying them as COVID-19 marshals. While 50 Home Guards have been assigned to the corporation, 30 commenced work on Saturday itself creating awareness among the general public. “A detailed guideline for their working will be released shortly,” Mr. Sridhar told

District Disaster Management preparedness reviewed at Kulgam

Share Kulgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr.Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the District Disaster Management preparedness in the district. Emphasizing on the foolproof readiness, the DDC directed all the officers to ensure all arrangements are in place for prompt and effective response to deal with any type of disaster. He also directed them to establish a control room and to formulate a strong communication plan besides he also reviewed availability of equipments and resources that can be utilized during any emergency. The DDC also instructed to identify land for disaster management huts.

Gautham, 69, of Nallalam in Kozhikode, the driver of the vehicle, suffered injuries and was admitted to a private hospital here. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. when the driver lost control of the truck while negotiating a sharp bend on the Kozhikode-Kollegal National Highway 766, the Kalpetta police said. The police diverted traffic away from the highway as the building could collapse moment. The demolition work of the structure began in the afternoon.as per the directive of the District Disaster Management Authority.
