A Clearfield couple accused abusing their six-month-old male infant waived their right to their preliminary hearings Monday before Magisterial District Judge Michael Morris at Centralized Court. According to a previous article in The Progress, on Oct. 23, the infant was taken to Penn Highlands Clearfield by his father, Andre Maurice Sheffey, 33, of 975 Park Ave., Ext Apt. 8D (Lawrence Park Village) presenting as critically ill. The child was having seizures, was blue at the time of arrival and was cold to the touch, police said. The father told hospital staff that the infant fell off the couch and struck his head, according to police.
