Well-regarded Dauphin surgeon dead at 87 By: Tyler Clarke Advertisement A well-regarded surgeon and Order of Canada recipient based in Dauphin has died at 87. Dr. Allan Lysack really loved and enjoyed his work over the years at Dauphin Regional Health Centre, and he was very dedicated and sincere in helping his patients, said Dauphin Hospital Foundation chairman Greg Thompson in a release. Dr. Allan Lysack, an Order of Canada recipient and surgeon based in Dauphin, is pictured in this undated photo. He died on Feb. 3. (Submitted) Lysack joined the Dauphin General Hospital (now the Dauphin Regional Health Centre) staff in 1965, shortly after completing medical school, and continued his accomplished career until his retirement in 2017.

New podcast teams up with Dekker Centre

The first podcast will feature Back of the Bus, with a livestream interview happening at 6:45 p.m. on Jan. 23 on the Dekker Centre stage featuring podcast host Matt Jacques and members of the band to launch the podcast series. The guests will then play a live-stream-only show at 7:30 p.m. right afterwards. Back of the Bus is described as a Central Saskatchewan-based band that, according to the Dekker Centre, “offers classic and contemporary folk/Celtic music with Scottish, Irish and East Coast roots. We are very excited to present Back of the Bus ahead of Robbie Burns Day!” Tickets for the live stream can be booked through the Dekker Centre box office. Box Office hours are: Tuesday and Thursday by phone, and Wednesday by phone or in person between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Legacy Co-Op Makes a Big Donation To Yorkton and District Community Foundation

By Ryan Young The Yorkton and District Community Foundation has received a big donation from Legacy Co-Op. The Foundation’s Sharon Tropin says an endowment will be set up with the donation. She says the endowment will help several charitable groups and organizations in an ongoing basis. She says the donation, at Legacy Co-Op’s request, will also help fund future general community projects.
