(File photo) The council had agreed in its 10-year budget to allocate $150,000 of Aho Tini funding for Toi Pōneke in 2021-22, but the paper recommended reducing that to just $50,000. It also recommended reducing planned funding for a programme aimed at “activating” public spaces, from $180,000 to just $80,000. The proposals were made in response to public feedback on the Aho Tini programme, which recommended the money be redirected towards the council’s arts and culture fund that supports paid, independent artists and groups.
