A presentation from the Alternative Programming Team was the main feature during Tuesday’s public school board meeting.
The team, headlined by Alternative Programming vice-principal Gregory Ferris, spoke at length with the board about its services in public schools.
“In our school division we have programs that fall into Alternative Programming and we also have services,” he said. “Alternative Programming is when maybe the mainstream schooling doesn’t work for a particular student. We have programs where we can provide that flexibility to students.
“After thoughtful conversations with health experts, our host and artists scheduled to appear, we are rescheduling the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards to be broadcast Sunday, March 14, 2021.
“The deteriorating COVID situation in Los Angeles, with hospital services being overwhelmed, ICUs having reached capacity, and new guidance from state and local governments have all led us to conclude that postponing our show was the right thing to do.
The organizers cited that “Nothing is more important than the health and safety of those in our music community and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly on producing the show.”
They thanked the artists, staff and vendors for their continued patience.

The 2021 Grammy Awards ceremony has been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. The show, which will be hosted by The Daily Show’s Trevor Noah, was originally scheduled for January 31.
The ceremony is now scheduled to be held on March 14. The official Twitter handle of Recording Academy shared the news on Wednesday.
