Appoquinimink School District launches hybrid 2 0

Delaware News Journal After a pause in hybrid learning, students and teachers in the Appoquinimink School District returned to school on Monday at the urging of the governor. The return to class in what the district is calling hybrid 2.0 includes the addition of webcams in all classrooms to improve the learning experience. The cameras allow instructors to teach students in person and at home simultaneously and double the amount of live instruction for students. Previously teachers would have separate in-person and virtual lessons. Now students are coming into the buildings two full days a week, with one asynchronous learning day and two virtual learning days.

NEWARK, Del. (AP) Teachers in Delaware held a drive-in demonstration to urge their school district to return to virtual learning as coronavirus cases continue to climb in the state. The nearly 50 cars gathered at the parking lot of Newark’s Gauger-Cobbs Middle School on Tuesday night honked their horns and displayed posters that read “show us the data” and “science over politics" as school board members switched to a virtual meeting to avoid.
