After a pause in hybrid learning, students and teachers in the Appoquinimink School District returned to school on Monday at the urging of the governor.
The return to class in what the district is calling hybrid 2.0 includes the addition of webcams in all classrooms to improve the learning experience.
The cameras allow instructors to teach students in person and at home simultaneously and double the amount of live instruction for students. Previously teachers would have separate in-person and virtual lessons.
Now students are coming into the buildings two full days a week, with one asynchronous learning day and two virtual learning days.
