That’s what Betty Anne and Bob Bevis have done for their three grandchildren this past year at their farm in Marstons Mills. The kids’ parents work full-time jobs, Betty Anne Bevis said their daughter-in-law is an emergency room nurse at Cape Cod Hospital and their son runs the Barnstable County dredge so having another place for the 2-, 5- and 6-year-olds to learn and play has made life easier, and safer, for the entire clan. “They’re fortunate that they have us and we can take care of them,” she said. “But we’re more fortunate, I think, to be able to spend time with them.”

HGTV s My Lottery Dream Home airs Cape Cod episode with David Bromstad

Cape Cod Times Darlene Baker, general manager at Clancy’s restaurant in Dennis Port, describes herself as a “huge HGTV fan” who has followed the career of frequent HGTV show host/judge David Bromstad for years. So, she said it was “very exciting” when she was contacted in November by producers of Bromstad’s “My Lottery Dream Home” reality show, saying they wanted to film part of an episode at Clancy’s. She was the only employee in the closed restaurant in December when the segment was filmed under strict COVID-19 precautions with Bromstad and a Massachusetts couple. Now, Baker couldn t wait to watch when the resulting episode aired at 8 p.m. last Friday night on the home-oriented cable channel.

Jennifer L Kuehne - The Martha s Vineyard Times

The Martha s Vineyard Times Jennifer L. (Colligan) Kuehne, 46, of Marstons Mills, passed away on April 19, 2021, at Cape Cod Hospital after a yearlong battle with cancer. Jen was born on April 11, 1975, in Oak Bluffs. The daughter of Tom Colligan and Paula Strople, Jen graduated from Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School, class of 1993. In 2011, Jen obtained her associate’s degree in arts from Cape Cod Community College as a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Most recently, Jen enjoyed working at Macomber’s Sanitary Refuse.  Jen was a talented artist with an entrepreneurial spirit. She shared her passion for art, offering art classes to friends and family in addition to developing Coloring Walls, for preschoolers through adults to enjoy. In addition, Jen truly enjoyed the history of Cape Cod and the Islands. Her artistic talent led her to create beautiful paintings and murals throughout the Cape Cod community, in many businesses, homes, and the Marstons
